Renewal pruning is a special treatment generally performed on overgrown and mature shrubs to restore them to a healthy and sustainable size.

During a site visit, a Wonderland Tree Care + Landscapes certified arborist will determine whether the shrubs requiring renewal pruning can achieve the desired effect from a single treatment or through a three-year process. Ideally performed late winter through early spring, renewal pruning maintains the overall shape of a shrub while reducing its volume and height. Once the shrub achieves the intended goal, seasonal pruning or specialty pruning are used to maintain shape and volume going forward.
